“A W.C.I update…. As of the 13th of this month, per the institution notices channel, (ch13), We will no longer be able to come out of the cells on weekends. No rec, no showers, no meals. Meals will be served in he cells & since weekend recreation was our only opportunity for a weekend shower we won’t even be able to take a shower for 48hrs. I will attempt to explain the “reason” for this, as it is highly nonsensical. As it is, our weekday passes, (for structured recreation, chapel/religious study groups, hobby/music, school & cell hall recreation etc), are constant cancelled, they seem to have concluded that locking us down for the entire weekend, (which we don’t have any of those passes on), will somehow prevent the cancellations. The weekend has no effect on the weekdays. So, us being locked down on the weekend, to prevent weekday cancellations, is simply put–bullshit….Oh wait, don’t want to forget that they’re also changing the weekend visits from 2:30pm–8:30 to 9am–3:30pm for us to! Which again has NOTHING to do with our weekday passes & never will. This line of crap about .W.C.I being “short staffed” is the reason for all of this happening. Yet, at any given moment there’s guards in this cell hall that are just sitting around, doing nothing, that aren’t even posted in this cell hall. This lie is nothing more than a way to keep us locked down all weekend without a true cause for a documented lock down. This is the only prison I know of doing this.”
Conditions in the Wisconsin prison system need to change.
