Excerpt from 11/7/18 letter sent by someone incarcerated at Waupun Correctional:
“Per Wisconsin statues prisoners are suppose to be counted from their last place of residing. Yet WI-DOC do not give us the census forms. In fact, DOC illegally fill them out and count us as being part of the county were the prison is located. (regarding 2020 census count which he would like help in trying to bring a suit)
You asked what else could be done to bring about change on prison conditions, etc. Shame them! ….Image and money are the key factors.
The suicide/segicide (sic) rates in WI is a statistic that show the AC abuse is out of control and the unwillingness to truthfully address it.”
Conditions in the Wisconsin prison system need to change.
